Fire Administration

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide the Town of Salem with fast, clean, friendly, professional fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency ambulance and disaster management control services, protecting and preserving life, property and the environment at a reasonable cost.

Salem Fire Department is a full-time, full-service municipal fire department providing quality fire and EMS services to our residents and visitors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  We staff three stations within the community and operate using four duty platoons that we call groups.

Salem Fire Department is commanded by Chief of Department Kevin J. Breen, Assistant Chief Paul J. Parisi, Deputy Paul G. Leischner and Fire Marshal Jeffrey S. Emanuelson.  The duty shift is run by a shift commander (rank of Captain) operating out of a command vehicle. They supervise other on-duty members consisting of three Lieutenants, nine Firefighters and two Firefighter/Paramedics assigned to our three fire stations.
